The Question:
How do I live with my inner moral compass?
&mpersand Answers:
You answer to it.
We all have one—whether we heed it or not. It’s the voice of conscience, the Jiminy Cricket within. And we really all do have one, barring sociopathy or psychopathy.
These words were used by Senator Cory Booker in his record-breaking Senate filibuster just last year. I kept them because they are game-changers.
It’s one thing to deal with right and left, but an entirely different set of stakes arises when it comes to right and wrong.
And, you know which is which for yourself. Which is all that matters.
We get into trouble when we decide to determine right and wrong for others. Keep it to yourself, and act accordingly, and you’ll be a good example, like Cory Booker, and not a terrible warning, like some other persons I decline to name.
You have that conscience for a reason, Belovèd. Please heed it.
