Amazon Rankings
So here’s a new torment—if I choose to let it be:
Amazon Rankings
Other authors have told me about this phenomenon, but I’d never quite experienced what they meant till this past weekend.
Some of you will already know that my first novel, Oklahoma! Hex, is up on Amazon’s Kindle store. Very exciting stuff. Even cooler—it went up on the 20th anniversary of my ordination. Who says there’s no God?
It’ll be up on the iTunes store and B & N soon as well. Check themexbooks.com for more information.
Anyway, one of the ways Amazon keeps us all interested is by the use of an arcane algorithm that calculates standings, if you will. So my new novel has been ranked in the top 100 of all metaphysical books sold since it went up.
Hallelujah!
No one really knows the algorithm. I’m not even sure the Amazonians do. What I do know is that just like I don’t let my scale tell me how to feel about myself and my life, neither can I let the Amazon rankings of my book tell me that either.
And, (I have to), the rankings come from readers like you choosing up to five stars, and from writing blurbs or reviews.
So … if you’re so inclined, and if Mex appeals to you, and if you read the book, wouldja, couldja rate and review it please?
I thank you, and so does Mex.
