This is our last week of joy exploration. My mama would have been 76 years old today had she lived. I miss her every day. This Seed is for Amelia. I found this phrase in Rabbi Rami Shapiro’s column in Spirituality & Health, January/February 2011.
“Lech lecha, the Hebrew command to ‘go forth,’ also means ‘walk toward yourself.’”
Gen 12: 1 ‘Go forth from your country, your clan, and your parent’s house, and become a blessing for all the families of the earth.’”
I wish my mom had heard these words: Go forth. I believe the reason she died so young is because she couldn’t figure out how to ‘go forth’ from where she was. Instead, she decided to start over.
Go forth, Mama, from wherever you are, and walk toward yourself in joy.
