Joy II
The next three weeks we will be exploring some ideas about joy.
These words from St. Teresa of Avila brought me a Mona Lisa smile. “Just these two words God spoke changed my life, ‘Enjoy Me.’”
In fact, her words brought me to a full stop. How many of us really have joy or enjoyment attached to God? It saddens me to write this: not very many. Most of us have obligations and rules and expectations attached to deity.
Instead, why not take a page out of St. Teresa’s book just for today? Enjoy God.
Just within my eyesight as I sit at my computer and write sit a yummy red chair—red is a reason to be joyous unto itself; a beautiful needlepoint pillow a beloved friend designed and I worked—I enjoyed stitching its colorful beauty into life; a red satin pillow that a dear one brought me all the way from China—blessing her is something I enjoy; a blue glass table top on the first antique I ever bought—that trip was an enjoyable highlight in my life even many years later.
Everything I see is God-generated just like the words that inspired this Seed: Enjoy Me.
Be brilliant,
Susan Corso
