Home Again—Changed
So we went to Denver to renew our marriage by working with a marriage wizard Dr. Ruth Morehouse. She’s a phenomenon in herself.
More to the point: we took very good care of ourselves whilst we were away.
We had few distractions.
I don’t even think I saw a television on although there were two in our suite.
We took naps.
We took notes.
We talked.
We noticed.
We acknowledged.
We copped to our stuff.
We saw each other’s stuff.
We advanced.
We retreated.
We regrouped.
When we got home, which went like clockwork, thanks to some very good, anticipatory planning, we unpacked immediately (something I really like about both of us).
The phone started ringing first thing Monday.
“How was Denver?” This was an encoded question. Friends wanted to know what we’d decided. Were we separating or staying together?
Here’s what I said to them: “I’m glad we went. We’ve found a path back to each other. IF we want it.”
That’s really all I expected out of the work.
It’s so nice when things meet one’s expectations.
May I recommend to you—if your relationship is on rocky ground—go work with Dr. Ruth Morehouse or Dr. David Schnarch, author of Passionate Marriage and Intimacy & Desire. They’re truly marriage wizards. www.passionatemarriage.com
